๐Ÿฆท AI receptionist for dental practices

The new patient who can't get through books down the street.

A new-patient call is worth many times a routine hygiene visit, and it arrives while your front desk is checking someone out, on hold with an insurer, or gone for the day. GoodLine answers the overflow, books into your schedule, and triages the 10 PM toothache.

Why dental practices lose calls

Three reasons your phone rings out

One front desk, three things at once

Checking a patient out, verifying benefits on hold, and a ringing phone. Something gets dropped, and it's usually the call from someone who found you on Google an hour ago.

Toothaches happen at night

Pain calls come in the evening and over the weekend. Patients in pain do not leave voicemails and wait โ€” they call the next practice with an emergency line.

Cancellations leave holes nobody fills

A 9 AM cancellation is a gap you could fill from your own waitlist, if anyone had time to work the phones between patients.

The script

What it asks before anything gets booked

Built from how a dental practice actually triages a call โ€” not a generic "name and number" form. You approve every question and every rule before it goes live.

Qualifying questions
  • Are you in pain right now, and is there any swelling?
  • Are you an existing patient or new to the practice?
  • What dental insurance do you carry?
  • Is this for a cleaning, a specific problem, or a consultation?
  • Best number and email for your forms
Rings your cell immediately
  • Facial swelling with pain, or difficulty swallowing
  • Knocked-out or fractured tooth after trauma
  • Uncontrolled bleeding after an extraction

How it works

Three steps. You keep your number.

1

Forward the calls you miss

One short code dialled on your phone sends busy, no-answer, and unreachable calls to GoodLine instead of voicemail. Your number and caller ID don't change.

About 2 minutes
2

We build your script

A 20-minute call covers your service area, hours, pricing rules, what counts as an emergency, and where jobs get booked. You listen to test calls and tell us what to change.

Done for you
3

It answers around the clock

Every missed call gets picked up, triaged, and booked โ€” with a text summary, recording, and transcript sent to you, and emergencies escalated to your cell.

Do the math

What are your missed calls worth?

Pre-filled with typical numbers for a dental practice. Change them to yours โ€” your call log will tell you the first one.

After hours, on a job, already on another line.
Typical for a dental practice โ€” set it to your own average.
Your close rate on the inbound calls you do pick up.
Some missed calls are spam or wrong numbers. Keep this conservative.

Questions

What dental practices ask us

Is this HIPAA compliant?
It has to be, and that needs a real answer rather than a checkbox. We sign a Business Associate Agreement, encrypt call audio and transcripts in transit and at rest, restrict who can access them, and let you set how long recordings are kept. Ask us for the BAA and our safeguards in writing before you sign anything โ€” and treat any vendor who won't provide both as a non-starter.
Will it give clinical advice?
No. It gathers symptoms, decides urgency against rules your doctor sets, and books accordingly. It does not diagnose, does not recommend treatment, and does not discuss medication. Anything clinical gets routed to a person.
Can it answer insurance questions?
It can say which plans you're in network with and what a new-patient exam costs if you give it those facts. It won't estimate coverage on a specific procedure for a specific plan โ€” too easy to be wrong in a way that costs you a patient's trust. Those get booked as a benefits callback.
Can it fill cancellations from our waitlist?
Answering inbound is where it starts, and that alone recovers most of the value. Proactive waitlist outreach is a separate outbound workflow โ€” tell us if you want it and we'll scope it rather than pretend it comes free.

More general questions โ€” pricing, setup, contracts โ€” are answered on the main FAQ.
