AI receptionist for local business

Every missed call is a customer calling your competitor.

GoodLine sets up an AI receptionist on your existing business line. Any call you don't pick up — after hours, on a job, already on the phone — rings through to an AI voice agent that answers in seconds, books the appointment, and texts you the details.

The leak in your business

You're not losing jobs to bad work.
You're losing them to a ringing phone.

Most people calling a local business are ready to buy right now. If nobody picks up, they don't leave a voicemail and wait — they hit back and call the next name on the list.

You're on a job, not at a desk

Hands in a panel, under a sink, with a patient, mid-cut. The phone rings at the worst possible moment — so it rings out.

Half your calls come after hours

Evenings, weekends, holidays — the emergency calls and the "I finally have a minute" calls. Voicemail catches them; nobody calls back in time.

A receptionist costs more than the calls

A full-time front desk runs $3,000–$5,000 a month, works 40 hours, takes lunch, and quits. Your phone rings 168 hours a week.

Today: the call rings out
  • Caller hears four rings and a generic voicemail greeting
  • They hang up and call the next business in the search results
  • You see a missed call two hours later with no name and no context
  • You call back into voicemail. The job is already booked somewhere else.
With GoodLine: the call gets answered
  • Your AI receptionist picks up on ring three, day or night
  • It answers real questions: hours, pricing, service area, availability
  • It books the appointment straight into your calendar
  • You get a text with the name, number, reason, and what was promised
How it works

Three steps. You keep your number.

We do the setup with you on one call. Nothing about how you answer the phone today has to change — GoodLine only picks up the calls you don't.

1

Forward the calls you miss

Your carrier already supports conditional call forwarding. We give you one short code to dial — busy, no-answer, and unreachable calls route to your GoodLine number. Your line, your caller ID, unchanged.

About 2 minutes
2

We train the agent on your business

Hours, services, pricing rules, service area, what's an emergency, what to never promise, where to book. We build it from your website and a 20-minute interview, then you listen to test calls and tell us what to fix.

Done for you
3

It answers 24/7 — you get texts

Every missed call gets picked up, qualified, and booked. You get a text summary with the recording and transcript. Urgent jobs get escalated to your cell immediately.

Live in about a day
What it does on the call

Not a voicemail box.
A front desk that never clocks out.

It holds a real conversation — interruptions, accents, background noise, someone rattling off an address while their garage floods.

Sounds like a person

Natural voice, natural pauses, handles being cut off mid-sentence. Most callers never ask if it's a human.

Books straight into your calendar

Real availability, real time slots, confirmation text to the caller. Works with Google Calendar and the scheduling tools most shops already run.

Texts you the whole story

Name, number, what they need, what was promised, urgency — plus the recording and a searchable transcript. No more "who was this?" callbacks.

Screens spam and tire-kickers

Robocalls, SEO pitches, and out-of-area window shoppers get handled without ever reaching your pocket.

Escalates the emergencies

You define what counts as urgent. A gas smell or a burst pipe rings your cell right then — everything else waits for morning.

Answers in more than one language

It switches to the caller's language mid-sentence and hands you the summary in English.

Handles the overflow, not just after hours

Two calls at once? Three? It answers all of them at the same time. Your busiest hour stops being your leakiest hour.

Every call, written down

A dashboard of every call it answered, what was said, what got booked, and what it couldn't handle — so you can tighten the script over time.

It knows what it doesn't know

No invented prices, no promises you can't keep. When it's out of its depth it takes a detailed message and flags it for you.

Who it's for

If a missed call costs you a job, this pays for itself

Every agent is built around one trade's actual call patterns — the questions, the objections, and what has to be asked before anything gets booked.

What are your missed calls actually worth?

Move the sliders to your numbers. This is the revenue currently walking out the door — and what answering it is worth every month.

After hours, on a job, already on another line. Check your call log — it's usually higher than you'd guess.

Not every missed call is a customer — some are spam, wrong numbers, or vendors. Keep this conservative.

Questions

The things owners ask us first

Will my customers know they're talking to AI?
Most don't notice — it speaks naturally and handles interruptions. But we don't hide it: if a caller asks, the agent says it's an automated assistant for the business and offers to take a message or reach a human. Being straight about it costs you nothing and keeps you on the right side of the rules in states that require disclosure.
Do I have to change my phone number?
No. You keep your number and keep answering it exactly like you do now. We set up conditional call forwarding so only the calls you don't pick up — busy, no answer, phone off — roll to your AI receptionist instead of voicemail. It's a short code you dial once on your phone.
What happens when it doesn't know the answer?
It's built to say so rather than guess. No invented prices, no availability it can't confirm, no promises about work you haven't seen. It takes a detailed message, tells the caller when you'll be back to them, and flags it so you can follow up. You can also give it a list of questions that should always trigger a callback instead of an answer.
How long does setup actually take?
A 20-minute call to go through your services, hours, pricing rules, and what counts as an emergency. We build the agent from that plus your website, then send you test calls to listen to. Most businesses are live the next day. You don't configure anything yourself.
Does it work with my calendar and software?
Google Calendar and the common scheduling and CRM tools, yes — booking directly into open slots. If you run something niche, we can usually push the lead in through a webhook or email parse. Tell us what you use on the intake call and we'll confirm before you pay anything.
Can I take the call myself if I'm free?
Always. Your phone rings first, every time. GoodLine only ever picks up what you don't. You can also pause it entirely from your dashboard — during a slow week, a vacation, or while you test it.
What about recordings and privacy?
Calls are recorded and transcribed so you have a record of what was said and promised. We configure the greeting to disclose recording where your state requires it, and you decide how long recordings are kept. Your call data is yours — we don't sell it or use it to train anything outside your own agent.
I already pay for an answering service. Why switch?
Answering services take messages; they rarely book jobs, they charge by the minute, they put callers on hold at busy times, and they read from a card with no real knowledge of your business. GoodLine answers every call at once, knows your pricing and service area, and books the appointment — usually for less than a mid-sized per-minute plan.
Am I locked into a contract?
No. Month to month, cancel with 30 days' notice. If the first two weeks don't produce booked work, we'll turn it off and refund you rather than talk you into another month.
